WELCOME TO LIVING MINDFULLY WILD

This site is about the art of noticing nature’s wonder, its' patterns, rhythms and observations of wildlife and places all around us when we stop to look. It stems from my slightly obsessive lifestyle working with and immersing myself in all things natural a lot of the time, borne of my lifelong affinity with wild creatures, particularly in the northern UK.

It’s a place to share some of my writings and sketches and insights, where, if you like, you can purchase my books and pamphlets, see a few of my sketches, follow my blogs; maybe also get a bit of an inside track on nature issues, as I work as a professional environmentalist, as the CEO of Northumberland Wildlife Trust, though these are entirely my personal reflections.

One of the ways I tune into the energies of wild nature and apply some of its healing properties and relax is through ‘energy movement practices’ such as Tai Chi and Chi Kung, which I have been learning and teaching for over 20 years.

In the Wild Chi section, I share a few simple videos of these and breathing techniques and mindful meditations and contemplations with a nature related theme you might like to try.

My personal mission is to promote the magic of nature and its central importance in life, to help people engage with nature and love wildlife. This has never been more important as we are in a climate and ecological crisis and we need desperately to ‘love nature back to full health’ at the same time as nurturing ourselves. I’m gently promoting the need to have a closer more respectful mutual relationship with nature.
